Norman Solomon is a nationally syndicated columnist on media and politics. His latest book, “War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death,” was published in 2005, and is the basis for the movie by the same name.
Shattering the illusion that a free press is immune to propaganda, War Made Easy provides ample evidence of the media’s complicity in promoting government agendas for war. Moving from Vietnam to Iraq as narrated by Sean Penn, the film examines how news reports have become nearly indistinguishable from White House and Pentagon talking points.
