PDSonoma on the March
PDSonoma members converged with PDA chapters from the Bay Area and beyond for the big March and Rally in San Francisco this past weekend. Joined by PDA National Board Chair, Mimi Kennedy, we marched, chanted, sang, rallied and helped to staff the busy PDA Booth in Dolores Park, the end point of the spirited march. The San Francisco event was reported to be the biggest of the 11 regional Oct. 27 mobilizations.

PDSonoma member Donna Norton reported “At the times I managed to hand the banner off to someone else for a few moments and step up on something to get a better view, the line of marchers stretched out of view looking both forward and back.
Two things that were distinctly apparent — more young people than old, and large labor contingents. The most impressive part of the march to me was the die-in. In the marches I’ve participated in (which is adding up to quite a few), only a small group participates. Not this time. When the signal was given, the entire mass of people around me dropped to the ground and the very noisy crowd fell completely silent.”
PDA’ers were also busy distributing the sturdy, new Progressive Challenge 2008 cards, printed with the 7 point Progressive Agenda.
